Not something else :( So I've already figured out Mahina is allergic to Chicken and most likely Turkey.I did an elimination diet for about a month (cleared up in about two weeks) and then she was given a piece of chicken (my sister didn't know she was allergic) and within an hour she was itchy itchy itchy. So, she's on TOTW Salmon formula but I might change her back to lamb and rice. Anyway, she's been itching like CRAZY whenever she comes back in the house. She's been pottying outside on the grass for a few months now. Just recently (maybe a week or so) whenever she comes in she itches her chin and bites her paws. Could is be the grass? Or is it the pollen in the air? My mom thinks it may be the longer grass (needs to be mowed) that affects her. If we wash her paws and face off right when she comes in she's fine. I want to do allergy testing on her, but I'm not too sure because I've heard testing for protein sources isn't always beneficial. So basically is there a different test for environmental factors as opposed to food? My poor baby has sensitivities like me! I get hives from the shower and chlorine pools and reactions to countless other things. :( |
Anyone have any insight on allergy testing?? |
Maggie has severe allergies and I took her to a dermatologist. She is now on a diet trial with rabbit and potato and gets ATOPICA for her symptons. The dermatologist said after the food trial time of six weeks we can tell if it is food or environmental allergies. If it is environmental she needs to get a daily shot of special antihistamins for the rest of her life... We'll pray that you find out what helps her best and that your little precious baby gets relieve soon! |
