ill puppy i have an 8 week old yorkie and today he started loosing his balance and going dizzy,, hes not really eating or drinking,,, he hs not yet had his injections as he only turned 8 week today.. can someone please tell me what is wrong with him ??? |
Check his gums...are they nice and pink or are they whitish or grey looking? He could be having blood sugar issues. You need to make sure he eats, even if you have to hand feed him every couple of hours. Do you have any Nutrical, Karyo syrup or Honey on hand? give him a little bit on his tongue and see if he perks up. Also, if he's not drinking he could be a little dehydrated...that can cause dizziness. Is he having any diarrhea or vomiting? |
Welcome!! I hope he is doing better now. Like My2boyz said could be low sugar and he needs syrup and to get him to eat every 4 -5 hours. |
he is probably hypoglycemic, they need to eat frequently and they can get dehydrated easily, just think how all of us get when we are hypoglycemic |
How is your baby doing now? Hopeing it was just a little sugar issue and he's okay now. |

Give him some Nutrical, Karyo syrup or Honey and see if that helps. It wont hurt to give him some just in case. Do your best to get him to eat and drink. Maybe even mix a little bit of yougurt in with his food and see if this gets him interested in eating. I have read those more experienced than myself give this advice. If this doesn't work I would get the little one to the vet immediately. I hope the little guys gets better soon. |
Ill Puppy X thanks for that, he is drinking milk and water bt wont eat his food,, he is also eatin chicken.. wt wil the honey do it him and plain yoghurt ??? Marley-Moo X X |
8 weeks is so young. Make sure you feed him every 3 hours. Pedialyte for dehydration, neutrical for low blood sugar 3 to 4 times a day. Before he goes to bed and when he wakes up. I would get him to a vet. You dont want him to go into a seizure, sound like he is on the boarder line. I dont mean to scare you but please see a vet... |

Put a tiny bit of yogurt in his food to coat the food just a little bit. It may get him to start eating his food. I've read that Dannon Activia is a good yogurt for them. They say don't use anything with artificial sweetners though. If his blood sugar is low the Nutri-Cal (etc.) will raise it up. Just like my2boyz said... Check the gums to make sure they are good and pink. If they are good and pink that's good news. If they are not good and pink but are instead pale, white, or grayish you should give him a little nutri-cal to get his sugar levels back up. I'm not trying to scare you but hypoglycemia can be an issue that can go from bad to very bad before you know it. Look up information on hypoglycemia and ask your vet about it as well. I'm sure someone with a lot more knowledge than myself will be along to help out soon. |
i have took him to the vets they give me tablets for him... he is still not eatting solid foodd, and has not had a poo today either, just loads of wee's. were do i get that stuff to get his blood sugar levels back up ??? Marley-Moo XX X |

When did you take him to the vet? If he is hypoglycemic, he needs to be seen for this issue. What pills did they give you and what were they prescribed to treat (the name of the pills will be on the container)? |
This little guy sounds like he really needs to be seen today... |
