10 month old most likly pregnant  My baby girl got linked up when being baby set. It was by another small yorkie. Anyone know anything about her giving birth at such a young age? I plan on her seeing the vet right away. I am concerned about her being so young and it being a unplanned pregancy. |
As long as she isn't a tiny, and she is in good health, she should be fine. But, I would definitely get some input from the vet and do lots of research about whelping! Good luck! |
That baby needs to get a shot to abort ASAP, and I strongly suggest having her spayed instead of the shot. She is just too young, and not even fully grown herself to have safe healthy pups. They all could die. Please, do the right thing for her. |
Absolutely spay her immediately. There is a good risk of problems with the abort shot, but probably a higher risk of complications from the actual pregnancy and whelping itself. Please see a vet ASAP and get her spayed. |
she should be spayed they shouldnt breed under age of 2 but if they are unsupervised it could have been non yorkie that bred with her next time not worth the chances |

to the op, please get her in to the vet and if you were not planning on breeding her, get her spayed. Better safe than sorry. |

how much does she weight? shes really to young to breed but you need to talk to you vet and see what he thinks. I would never breed a dog this young but do know of two female Yorkies that both got breed at this same age and mommys and babies all did fine. but they was lucky. so just talk to your vet and see i what he thinks. there is a morning after pill if you want to go that route. but Id talk it over with the vet and see what he thinks. heres a good web site to read up on . http://www.debbiejensen.com/whelp_supplies.html |

Did this just happen today? I saw where you had mentioned the two you had bought for breeding were showing sexual interest in each other at 9 months. So very young for any dogs to mate, but especially the toy breeds. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your little one! |
I talked to a vet and they said she should be fine she is so healthy and her size is good. I was also told that they do not have anything for birth control or abortion for dogs. I was told to monitor her when its time to deliver and she would be fine. I do plan on getting a second opinion on Monday. |

I'm glad you are getting another opinion as her pregnancy can be terminated by spaying her asap. The risk of losing the mom, puppies or both is high. Pregnancy Termination |
I agree, get a 2nd opinion. I talked to a lady one time that had a 1 lb 1 year old yorkie and she was going to have a baby. I could have slapped that woman. I told her you know that can kill the mama. No, the vet is going to do a csection. So, that vet (if he were mine) would have been an xvet, and that lady was about as dingy as the vet for allowing that to happen. They can spay dogs while pg if you don't wait too long, it's just more costly |
How much does you dog weigh and how advance in her pregnancy is she? |
The olther vet said she should be alright. Her weight is nearly 5 lbs and will be heavier close to birth. The vet said keep her calm during delivery and do not help her unless she is having trouble. She will naturally know what to do. Both vets said the same thing from two different clinics. One had a second vet in the room so it would be a total of 3 vets. I do plan on monitoring and using my own judgement and educate myself on Yorkies. I am use to delivery with other breeds mainly the small breeds. |
Actually most yorkie breeders are right in there helping their bitches when they're whelping. They actually should only eat 1/2 to 1 afterbirth, otherwise, they can get sick from eating too many of them. I'm sorry, I still think it's terrible that a 10 mo old puppy is going to have babies. My little girl is 10 mos and of course, she is too small to breed to begin with, but to me, she has so much puppy in her still that I just could never put her through that even if she was big enough.:( |
