Help with decision regarding Frontline single dose vs Frontline KIT! I have to buy more frontline plus for my boys and I keep running into this product that is usa epa approved frontline plus for dogs 1 - 22lbs. It is actually 6 doses of frontline plus in one little foil pack. It comes with a pipette and a vial. You open the frontline and suck the appropriate amount of frontline into the pipette and apply like normal to your dog. You store the remainder of the frontline in the vial until the following month where you use the pipette again to suck out the appropriate amount for that months application, etc... Has anyone seen this? Used it? Is it genuine? Am I best off to call my vet on this? The thing is 6 doses of Frontline Plus is $60. However 6 doses this way is only $16. Whats your take on this. I would definitely put in the extra time it takes to do it if it really saves me that much money. |
Where are you seeing this product? On Ebay? There are a lot of counterfeit flea control products out there. Please read this EPA warning: Counterfeit Pesticide Products for Dogs and Cats | Pesticides | US EPA The only safe place to buy flea control is from your vet or a reputable online pharmacy like Entirely Pets, Drs. Foster & Smith, etc. If you want to customize doses and save money on multiple pets, why not use Frontline spray? That's what I have used for years on Lady and my two cats. I just pump the recommended amount by weight onto a cosmetic puff (cotton balls are too absorbent) and rub it all over them. One bottle lasts me years - until the expiration date! Frontline Spray |
You use the spray alone and it works? Does it absorb in like frontline plus? Repel ticks? Thats my concern... I live where there are ticks. I don't think Ive ever seen a flea in my life though (knock on wood) so I don't have a flea problem, just ticks from april - november. |
Interesting. I never heard of the kit before. I would prefer to buy the vials already intact and not be bothered measuring, however, those with multiple pups I could see this being a plus. It can be applied more or less depending on the size plus it would be cheaper. |
I never heard of it before until a few days ago. Now I am seeing it all over the place, ebay, amazon, bizrate and other websites... it LOOKS to be a dig dog dose with the necessary syringe and vial to give it to small dogs. Im really contemplating it. I would like to know more about the frontline spray though. |

I've used the kits off of ebay and have had wonderful results with them. Frontline Plus is what i buy and it works on my outside dogs. But this doesn't seem to work on Tyke so I'm going for the k-9Advantix. hope this helps. it is alot cheaper and if it works to keep fleas away i'm not going to complain. |

Juse a FYI - I took Lola to the vet for her heartwork/Lymes's disease check on Tuesday. He said that heartworm isn't really much of a threat here but that Lyme's is. He's finding about 10% of the dogs he's done the SNAP test on have come back positive for Lymes. You may want to look into the vaccination. |
