Help Fifi has bad Breath My five month old yorkie's baby teeth fell out and her new adult teeth are now out. Since this happened she now has bad breath. At the same time though I was switching her from Science diet to wellness. She loves the Wellness and i'm glad because she's now getting the right nutrition. Can anyone give me any advice on how to get rid of the bad breath?? I'm not sure if it has to do with her new food or new teeth??? Thank you!!! Naomi and Fifi :yorkietal |
Probably the new teeth... does she have any retained baby teeth? Also, they have these CET chews that I've heard about and they're supposed to be good but I haven't tried them. Bully sticks as well. I know they have different things you can put in their water too. I haven't tried any of those though, besides bully sticks. |
I won't be of much help. Seems to me my Nolee has bad breath more than not! LOL! |
Check her gums really well and look for redness or swelling. An infected tooth will cause bad breathe |
Thank you Thanks Everyone!!! I checked her gums and teeth they look fine, so i'm gonna try some bully sticks today!!! Thanks Naomi and Fifi!!! :thumbs up |
I brush Teddi's teeth every day and even then I noticed that he had "stinkier" breath after switching from Iams to Royal Canin. Maybe it's the increase in meat content/quality (as opposed to fillers)? I ended up buying a dental liquid mouth freshener (PetzLife, I think) and his breath is a-ok now! |
She may be teething. I know Pablo is 8 months and he is teething. I brush everyday |
charlie used to have bad breath. I couldn't stand it. So I went to petco and got this liquid to add to his water to help with the bad breath and tartar. it has a nice minty flavor. Now his breath is not stinky anymore. I also brush his teeth or let him play with his toothbrush once a day. |
Thanks everyone I got the minty liquid for her water and I also got some doggie toothpaste and a toothbrush!!! I'll let you all know if it gets better!!! :thumbs up Naomi and Fifi!!! |
