I took the plunge!! Well I took the plunge today. I did some research on the internet and found a few recipes for homemade dog food and dog treats. Went to the store got my ingredients and came home and fixed my girls a ground turkey brown rice and veggie casserole :). Madison lapped it up (my yorkie) Lexie my maltese picked out all the meat and left everything else. :( I just saw there's recipes here. so I think I will go ck them out too! |
Great to find stuff they love to eat! Remember though, if the dog's diet consists of more than 20% homecooked food, it is INCREDIBLY important to add a supplement to their food. If their calcium-phosphorus ratio is out of whack it can lead to some serious health problems. That said, homecooking (with proper supplementation) is a FANTASTIC way to go for your babies!!! You can get a customized home-cooked diet formulated for your babies through a consultation (many times phone or email) with a pet nutritionist. So sorry if you already know all this!!! |
still using our natures variety kibble and supplementing with super vita chews. I would love to have a consultation with a nutritionist. Thanks for the advice. |
