How does your baby act when they are in pain? Mya isn't acting herself sigh...she got her staples out today from her hip incision and her belly from her umbilical hernia. The vet said everything looked and felt great-which was a relief, but her behavior over the past 2 days hasn't sigh... Normally (since her surgery) she would have a spurt of playfulness and she hasn't the past 2 days...and she doesn't bury her food anymore like she used to, and I have to coax her into eating and she normally won't until like bedtime...treats she'll eat though...she is peeing and pooing normally sigh... she won't let me hold her like I have been normally, and i THINK it's from her belly hurting cuz her leg seems to be fine when i do her therapy sigh.... she is just very subdued...she is still on pain meds but they must not be working :( How does your baby act after surgery/when in pain? sigh |
That's how Missy acts after surgery too. She just mostly sleeps, not much spunk to her. I think if your baby is eating/pooping/peeing, and not shaking or crying...she's likely just healing. They need to rest up to get well :) |
but it's been a week since her surgery :( should she still be this way? It's almost like she was more spunky and playful and let me hold her normally the first few days and as of like 2 days ago she stopped :( |
Yeah Poor Baby. Have you ever had a hysterectomy? |
Ohhh ok, Ic...I misunderstood. I thought that she just had surgery. Hmm, why don't you give your vet a quick call? It doesn't hurt to ask, and they shouldn't mind. |
I feel like sucha nuisance, I am always calling with paranoia questions and concerns....everytime I say something along the lines of "she seems so uncomfortable" he gives me a look like "well yeah, she's been through a lot of surgery"...I just feel like she should be more normal by now :( No hysterectomy haha only 24 :), wouldn't that be the equivalent of a spay though? or similar invasiveness as an umbilical hernia removal. |
another thing is, I am hoping this could just be her being kind of traumatized from being at the vet today (today is the worst her personality has been since the beginning sigh), because she FREAKED out when they handed her back to me after removing the staples sigh she couldn't wait to get out of there. you know how after a traumatic thing puppies/dogs tend to just be very lethagic? sigh i dunno :( |
