Nutrical on hand for older, larger Yorkie? 1 Attachment(s) I am picking up my new baby, Oliver tomorrow.. He is a rescue, he was born in a puppymill. He is approx. 1 year old, and 9 pounds. I, of course, worrying about him not wanting to eat during the transition, not to mention it is a 3 hour drive home for him tomorrow... I am sure that will not be fun as his foster mom says he is nervous in the car. Should I pick some Nutical up, just in case?? Or is a dog that size going to be ok for a bit? |
With his weight in consideration he should be fine. However, if you want to bring snacks for him, like cheerios or chex, or a chewy bone or milk biscuits, I think he would appreciate it. Also, maybe some filtered water. However, if you would feel better with Nutrical on hand, go ahead and bring some. Sometimes it is just the peace of mind thing! Congratulations on your new boy! Best wishes......... |
I wouldn't worry so much about the nurtical for a guy that age/size. I would, as posted above, take a few yummy, gentle snacks for him. Don't over-do it as you don't want to upset his tummy. If he's nervous in the car, keep him in his crate and place a blanket over the top. Good luck with your new guy, and bless your heart for rescuing. |
