Please help with any info on liver shunt 1 Attachment(s) My pixie was admitted into the hospital last night, because she shows all the symtoms. I'm just waiting for the vet to call me with the result but I want to prepare myself for the worst. My fiance and I are devastated and to top this all off we are getting married in a month. We have been so stressed out with that alone and to have our fur baby this sick its just so crushing. there is nothing we will not do for her. She is 4 years old and is 3 pounds |
Just reading this, have you heard any news about your baby? Prayers sent to you from me and my girls. |
I'm sorry to hear your baby may have liver shunt. Here's a link with lots of information.... The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine - Liver Shunt Research Sending prayers. |
OK, hold tight and take a breath :) Liver Shunt is NOT a death sentence. What tests have been done so far? What food and treats does she eat? What 'odd' behaviors does she display??? Being that you are in NY ~ "IF" I had an LS baby - I would bring her to Cornell University Vet Hospital. They, as well as U of Tenn are the LEADERS in LS research. They BOTH do TONS AND TONS of Liver Shunt surgeries per week. Also, please join this Liver Disease group. They can help guide you and support you and your baby ;) DogLiverDisease : Dog Liver Disease |
I hope the vet was able to determine what is making your baby sick and he can make a full recovery. |
Has your baby had a seisure? TLC said the same thing to me and made me feel so much better just by those words. Its not a death sentence.. I hope everything works out fine for you...Please let us know....Lissette |
I'm so sorry to hear about your baby...I hope the prognosis is good. My baby is showing strange behavior....what symptoms did your baby have? I'm going out of my mind trying to find answers and the vet just gave her some antibiotics for a cold; however, her symptoms are quiet strange just for the average cold. He mentioned that small yorkies can have liver shunts and I'm looking for information for symptoms. I look forward to receiving your gracious reply, and my prayers are with you and your baby. Debra |
