Is it safe to sue cortizone cream? My poor Luna! She has what looks like a fire ant bite under her leg, in the armpit area:( We have tried for YEARS to get rid of those danged critters, but they keep coming back. Anyway, she's been scratching at it so much that the skin is so red there:cry: She was up half the night scratching and scratching:( Can I put a little Cortizone cream on it? Is that safe? I don't have any Benadryl in the house and have no money right now. GOD I hate being broke:cry: |
forgot to subscribe so I can get the replies:o |
I think it would be fine if you can keep her from licking it |
I don't think it will hurt anything but only if you can stop her from licking it. |
Poor little thing! If any possible then put a cotton t-shirt on her. It helps with the itching and she can't scratch it. Neosporin should be safe if you use only a tiny bit... |
Thanks, I'll put a tiny bit of cream on it, then a tee shirt. When she wakes up from her nap, that is:laugh: I also gave her an oatmeal bath this morning, but she was itching again not too long afterward:( I just hope that this gets better with home treatment. Thanks everyone:girl_hug: |
It seems to be working, no more scratching!!!!! Hopefully we'll all get a full night's sleep tonite:D |

My vet recommended topical cortisol cream, the same stuff humans use. Agree with the suggestions to make sure doggy does not ingest the medications. Glad it is working out for you! :) |
