allergy and kidney diet
Last year our vet put Baxter on Science Diet KD because his BUN and creatine were up. Over the past year his renal functions improved with the new diet (yay!!) The bad part is this winter Baxter started scratching really bad. At first we thought it was dry skin from having the furnance on, but then he scratched all the hair off the back of his ears. One ear started bleeding and became infected. The vet said it looked like food allergies. He suggested we eliminate some common dog allergies (Baxter is so said he can't have Cheerios). We have eliminated everything but he KD kibble and he is still red and itching. Today I noticed he scratched a scab on his stomach. Does anyone know a allergic diet that would also be lower protein???:aimeeyork |
