When to start adult food? Chase is now 9 months old! I can't believe that my baby's growing up so fast :p. Haha! When is it ok to start adult food? I know toy breed dogs are considered an adult earlier than most other dogs. |
It depends, but many breeders recommend around 8 months, some foods will say on the bag at what age to switch. Puppy food tends to have higher fat, I believe, than adult food. |
Thanks Nancy! Innova doesn't have the info on the bag, but I guess I'll switch him over once I'm finished with the it. My vet said toy dogs usually stop growing at 9-10 months. |
I switched Fiona when she turned 11 months old!~ I cannot belive my little baby will be a year old on Sunday! but she did really well with the switch! |

Around 10-12 months. Some yorkies are build more thin so i will keep them on puppy food for longer. |
I have heard around 10 months or whatever your vet recommends |
I started changing around 10 or 11 months. She just happened to be able to finish her last bag of puppy food on the last day of transitioning so it worked out well. |
