Bella is going in for surgery tomorrow She is going in to be spayed.I am so scared,But she is now 15 months old and gone thru two heat cycles. The vet told me when she was little to wait a while due to they thought she had a portal sunt,But that was ot the case. Please be with me and pray she will do fine,,,, and PLEASE let me know some of the things I should expect when she comes home. She will be staying overnight as they have someone there to look after her. God Bless you all and our little babies |
Lots of Luck for Bella with her surgery tomorrow. I'm sure all will go just fine. Please update us when she is back home. |
it is SO nerve wracking when they go in- we've all been there! She will be groggy when she comes home and depending on how she reacts to the meds she could be for a few days (layla doesn't react well so she took about 3-4 days to be back to normal). She needed to be carried outside to pee and i had to hold her little back end up- so pitiful :p I used an infant onesie on her to keep her from licking her stitches- i only used this at night when i couldn't keep an eye on her. |
It's be ok. You're being such a good mommy to look out for her and get her spayed. She's be around a long time to reward you for looking out for her. I'll say an extra prayer for her. Please, stay in touch |
my thoughts are with you and Bella!! :love-hug1:hands: I hope the surgery goes well. I already know when it's Bria's turn I'm going to be a mess! |
I will be praying for Bella tonight and tomorrow. I know how bad it is for them to be away at the vets, Chance is there now, she was tested for a liver shunt today. And they had to keep her over night because of radio active stuff from one of the tests. I would appreciate your prayers also. |
With Jazzie I was so scared to get her spayed, I waited, postponed, then finally took her in, uughh, what a long day that was. I was relieved to hear the vet call and say, everything is okidoky. That night she was groggy, did not do much but sleep, I did put a syringe of water in her mouth to get her to drink something, and fed her a few dry food kibbles. The next day she was acting as if NOTHING happened! oooh my gosh . Of course I had to keep her from jumping, running after Zander, I could not believe how great she felt. Now I have to eventually get Lexie spayed, oooh, all that worrying all over again. |
I will say an extra prayer for Bella that she have a speedy recovery.:) |
You and Bella will be in my thought and prayers. You might have seen my post in another thread, but I want to repeat some of the information I posted, because I think it's important to spread the word.... Since my little Olive's death, I have researched, read, talked to numerous vets about the best safety protocol for we can do to prepare our babies for surgery. And this I want to share with you all: 1) The safest anesthesia to use is Sevoflurane. This is also known as pediatric gas, because they use this for pediatric surgeries for tiny babies undergoing surgery. It is also the safest on the liver. 2) Do the tests before undergoing anesthesia: blood work, bile liver acid test, and an EKG! An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of the heart. A very prominant vet clinic here performs an EKG on the dogs before undergoing surgery. The clinic (though rare), has had anethesia deaths, and it had been because of irregular heart beat or cardiac arrest during anesthesia. So because of this, it is now a mandatory test in their clinic before surgery. The vet told me that there has been instances when they DID detect irregular heartbeats, and have actually postponed the surgery, to wait until further tests can be done and the puppy is bigger/stronger. I know I'm now completely traumatized after what I went through with Olive. But I know that in the future when I bring my next baby to be spayed (even though I'll probably be close to panic-stricken), I have the knowledge to be prepared and minimize the risks. "Tractorqueen", my prayers for safety for little Bella as she goes in tomorrow. Please keep us posted. I'm sure she'll do fine. |
