Post Tramatic? Hi Everyone, I am really having a hard time and I need so help and guidance. My Yorkie, Maggie, almost choked to death a month ago. She was attacked while eating and was bitten into her left eye, and now is blind in one eye. She stopped breathing and we had to clear her throat and give her CPR, and she is okay now. I was really upset and scared and shakey for a while, but was more concerned about her than anything. I was able to get past in until Saturday she choked again on a treat. We had to dig it out again, and pat her back, I patted too hard and she yelped. The whole things just sent me into shock. We have changed to only soft food, and she is doing fine, but I am not. Everytime she moves funny, or eats or coughs, or plays, or bathing her, or brushing her, or anything I am on edge and freaked out and scared. I can't take it, I can't get past it. Will this go away? I am scared to hold her, I have to keep leaving the room and going outside to get air to breathe! I am all of a sudden clastraphobic in my house, even though neither times it happened in our house. I cry and break down several times a day! I just don't know what to do! Please someone help me! |
I am so sorry to hear about all you and your furbaby have been through. I have not experienced anything quite this tramatic with Maddie so I can;t say I know what you are going through, but you sound like an amazing mommy to your Maggie and I am glad she is better. That is what you need to focus on, easier said than done...i know:rolleyes: Enjoy your little girl and be thankful you can. It is because you were so quick to act with the right response she is alive. I can only hope that in such an emergency I would be able to do the same and not panic! Now go give her a big ole kiss right on top of her head:p I will say a prayer to help you deal with this. |
Thank You Thank You! I definatly could use the prayers! I am barely hanging on to my sanity. My husband keeps says, "You have beenn a great mom for 5 years, why would you think you will not be one". It's like having watched a scary movie that you can't erase and can't stop being afraid of no matter how you try. |
Hi and welcome to YT. What you went thru wazs a very traumatic thing and could be causeing panic attacks. I would go see my doctor and tell him what you are going thru. I feel sure he can help you with the panic issues. Good Luck and Prayers going to you and your furbutt.... Sharon, PIXI and SPIKE.. |
