I need help, is this worms to you?? 1 Attachment(s) so i got baileys on saturday and the breeder told me she has been dewormed several times which i can see from her health record but this is twice now that i see something come out of her after she goes to potty...i took a picture maybe someone can help me out...i have never had a puppy that had worms so i have no clue what it looks like but wtv is coming out of her does not loook to healthy.... if it is not worms can anyone help me out? what is it should i see a vet?? |
That looks like mucus not worms. Worms would look like little pieces of rice. |
When you take her to the vet for a well puppy visit...take a stool sample and they will test it for you. I agree with Chachi...that is not worms. |
I would get her to the vet right away. It could be coccidia or giardia. Whatever it is, it is not a normal stool. Regular worm medicine would not kill coccidia. What are you feeding her and have you changed her diet? That could also cause mucus stools. Please keep us posted. |

Get a sample of her poop and run it by their office. That way they can start testing it......Let us know ... |

now is there a way i can male her poop faster since she just did and i flushed it , not knowing any better of course...?? |
No you will have to wait for a fresh sample. Now if you take her by the Vet they can get a stoole sample from your baby. I would not wait on this very long. Maybe the vet can change your appt. for today or tommorow... |
i just called the vet and she said to come by at 3pm...ill need stool sa,ple though ... |
Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear your puppy might not be well, thaht's awful! I think you're right to take a sample to the Vet, better safe than sorry! ;) :) I'm afraid I dont really have an suggestions on how to get her to poop other than feed her. Puppies' digestive system are quite quick so if you feed her she'll probably poop in no more than about an hour I'd have thought. Just be sure to watch her like a hawk so that you dont miss it! Best of luck hon, and please do let us know what the Vet says, wont you? http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...getwell010.gif |
If you can't get a sample go anyhow. The vet should be able to get something from her rectally, enough for testing at least. Explain to him what it looked like. Finger's crossed it will be ok. It's better you get there ASAP just in case. Will watch for an update. |
im so nervous now..pore bailey...i will bring the picture i showed you guys to the vet as well and hopefully i will have a stool sample if not i am going anyways..im way to scared...ill update when i come back from the vet later...thanks alot everyone |
I would take that pic you posted. That way he can see the consistency. He should be able to get more sample from her rectum....Good luck. |
Glad you have a appointment with the vets, doesn't look like worms but mucus...Keep us posted. |
