Question...... Madison is 14 weeks. She has all her shots so far except rabies, which she will be getting in a few weeks. Is it safe to take her out for walks now? Tomorrow it is going to be unseasonably warm, 70's YAY!! I would really like to take her for her first walk outside, but not if it isn't safe for her. Thank you!! |
Totally safe! Go for it! |
when did she get her last set of shots? if she got them atleast 2 weeks ago then she should be totally fine! the vet said to wait 2 weeks after the last one so it can take effect on the immune system, just to be safe :) |
It has only been 1 week (today):( |

Just pick her up and carry her around outside. As far as the rabi shot, please wait awhile to have that. Watch this video The Rabies Vaccine for Dogs: Side Effects and Precautions You Can Take |

OMG!! I didn't know the rabies shot was that dangerous, now I'm afraid for her too get it. |
My vet won't give rabies shots until they are at least 6months old and depending on their weight. |
I'm waiting until mine is a year or older before getting her rabi shot |

She is 5 lbs, does that make a difference. She was 3.7 lbs at 9 weeks and when I took her back at 13 weeks she was 5 lbs. I think that's big for her age, is it not? |

The age a puppy has to get the first rabies shot is set by law. If you tell me what state you live in, I can look it up for you. |
