Holy Crapoli! Well I think we just had our first hypoglycemic scare! Whew, that was NOT fun. Let's don't do that again!!! Curly is fine now but when I went to see her in the bathroom and she didn't attack me like usual, I looked all over and saw her doing this weird twitching thing, lying between the hamper and the wall. She NEVER doesn't come flying over to see me and she wouldn't even come when I called for her. I told Jack to run and get the honey quick! He did and we gave her a bunch and within a minute, she was fine. Woooweee! Don't DO that!!!:thumbdown |
Sorry to hear about it! Our Lola has given us a few scares of her own! Thank goodness you recognized the problem and were able to help!!! |
Had it not been for this forum, I might have not known about that or what to do! still freaked me out! |
Thank goodness you found her in time! It's a scary experience! |
Am I to expect this often now that she's had one? I worry about my sleeping tonight and what if it happens again??? |

I would definately set the alarm and check on her every few hours tonight and watch her closesly tomorrow. If you have more incidents then a trip to the vet is in her near future :) |

Curly, please don't do that again, it worries your Mommy! :D |
Oh, and Cindy, have I thanked you lately for the napsak and especially the banana YY's? Because that girl LOVES her bed but more than anything, there's not a thing she won't do for a YY!!! Just tonight, new trick..."Get in your bed" I wave the treat and she flies into her napsak. Of course, then she jumps out so we can do it again and again...more treats you know!!! hahaha. Anyway, everything you sent is just terrific! |
We had this happen with Laddy a couple weeks ago he was all pep one minute next collapsed beside me on the sofa and we couldnt get him to respond. We use nutrical and he came back to himself albeit slowly. He had an appointment the next day with the vet who advised us to add karo syrup to his water at least once a week. We have had poms in the past and did this with them but didnt know that we should do the same for our yorkie. It is very scary and like you I dont want to go through it again. Glad your baby is ok. |

Poor little girl :( |
When Cali was little and having hypoglycemic episodes I fed her every 3-4 hours even during the night so you may want to try that. It is a very scary thing to see. |
We free feed Curly so she can always have food when she wants it. She\'s still little and only eats about 1/4 cup a day as it is. She is quite active though and I usually give her the honey after a long romp outside with her boy but yesterday she pulled a fast one! |
