What To Use For My Yorkie's Bad Breath Hi Everyone. So here's the story. My four-year-old, 5lb., puppy-mill rescue yorkie has horrible breath. I've tried teeth brushing and various teeth-cleaning treats. None work. Today I bought, "Breath Fresh Dental Rinse" by Nutri-Vet. It contains chlorhexidine, chlorine dioxide, yucca, mint oil, and sodium benzoate. Is anyone familiar with this product? I'm not concerned whether or not it works. If it does, great! If it doesn't, I can get my money back. My concern is whether or not it's ingredients are safe/healthy? Your feedback is appreciated. |
Maybe the dog has some bad teeth. The original owner may not have taken care of the poor dog. Have you taken he/she to the vet and had their teeth checked out? Max had bad breath when his baby teeth were not falling out and our Persian cat had bad breath because she needed some teeth pulled (she was 7 yrs). |
I'm not sure about the ingredients in the product. Chances are it's safe though. I agree with the above poster. Getting his teeth checked by the vet is a good idea. He may need teeth removed or the problem may be as simple as a cleaning. Good Luck! |
