blood on stuffed animal lucky loves stuffed animals. last night my 7 year old daughter was playing with him with one of her animals. all of a sudden she came running and screaming lucky is bleeding mommy. i checked the stuff animal and you could clearly see blood (small amounts) on diff parts of the animal...now lucky is teething so i tried to look in his mouth but he fought me like tooth and nail.... i've been checking him all night to make sure he's breathing ok and so far no whinning or crying out in pain....should i call the vet??? is it normal to bleed while teething????? concerned new yorkie mama |
Don't worry about it unless there's a lot of blood, says my wife. Their teeth and gums do bleed a little when they're teething. How old? They also lose puppy teeth and can bleed when the teeth get loose. |
he will be 5 months on the 10th....... he wont open his mouth for me at all. if i try to put my finger in there he keeps his mouth closed tight.....the only time i see is when he yawns |
This is perfectly normal to see blood when he loose teeth , it is just like when a child loose their teeth . |
Probably nothing to worry about at all. If you want to see his teeth to check, apply pressure to the back of his jaw with a hand below his muzzle and use other hand above with thumb and middle fingers grasping behind the canines. Your palm will be covering his eyes. Sit him where he can't back away from you. |
I don't think it's anything to worry about unless it's a large amount of blood. Trixie is teething too and there is some blood on her stuffed toys and rawhide as well. She lost one of her backteeth last Friday, after chewing on a frozen sock, and lost some blood. It's a good think the teeth are coming out!!! |
