she's not feeling well :( my 20 mos old yorkie has very itchy and red skin. She's never had this before - she also feels very hot. I noticed she was scratching like crazy yesterday when I came home from work. I saw few little red bumps on her belly. I went to target and bought her an oatmeal bath treatment for dry skin and I just bathed her in it. She seems to have a fever she won't stop shaking :( Has anyone any idea what is going on with her? |

I'm just seeing this. How is she this morning? Have you taken her to her vet? |
Hope you can get her to a Vet. Did you check to see if she fleas? Good luck. |
You should probably take her in - this could be hives or flea allergy or other things, but it sounds like it should be properly diagnosed so it can be treated, esp. if it's hives. |
I hope she doesn't have scabies. My dog did have them and it drove me crazy. he had he same symptoms. But he is better now. if your stomach is itching too, take her to the vet and let him know. That is how my vet realize he had scabies, because the results came in negative. So we showed him our stomach and the hair loss on the dog and is when he realize that he did have it. I hope she feels better and I also hope is not scabies. |

The Doctors Book of Home Remedies Pet Problems here is a place I go to these are actual doctors. Untill you can get them to the vet. |
Hi everyone, Well the bathed definitely worked she's not scratching as much and we were able to sleep. I had too many meetings on friday that could not be rescheduled so I wasn't able to take her to vet. I'm going to try and take her today hopefully her vet is in. I forgot to mention that all of my furbabies have been getting sick for few months now with vomiting, diarrhea and really bad scratching. I'm starting to wonder if it might also be their food. I heard that ingredients were switched with canidae. I'm going to start them on natural balance duck and sweet potatoe today. I hope that helps I don't like seeing them so sick all the time. I will mix old food with new (75% and 25%) so it won't affect their tummys. Thanks everyone |
Oh I forgot - can someone please explain hot spots and how do they get them? |
Beside their food (which can cause this) have you changed what you wash your floors with? My little girl broke out the same way and I can no longer use Clorax Cleaner or PineSol on the floor...she is terribly allergic. |

That's why I don't understand what it could be. There's also no fleas on her or any of the other furbabies. But, thanks for asking:D |
Oh Good...just wanted to cover all the bases...I sure hope you can get to the bottom of this. |
Buttons was going through the same thing a week or so ago. I took him to the vet, he is on Prednisone for a month and 1/2 benadryl (sp) 2 x's a day. In this last week he has almost completely stopped itching. He has allergies but we don't know what yet. The vet also gave me epi-sooth shampoo and it seems to have helped. I hope your baby feels better soon :) |
