car sick?? my lil baby seems to get sick when we are in the car?? does this happen to anyones little babys? shes 4 months old.... |
Luckily Nolee does not! We took him on vacation at 4 months old for a 10 hour drive, and all went well. Hopefully, someone can give you some advice! |
Yep, 3 of mine are pukie babies in the car. Tank and Boomer are just now 14 weeks and they both puked on me today on the way home from the vet but they gave them treats while we were there so I knew it was coming! Maddie is 17 months old and she pukes just thinking about going for a ride...I don't know if my poor Maddie girl will ever grow out of it but we're trying. I just keep a roll of paper towels and a plastic bag in the truck...a rubber backed rug over the back seat, washable potty pad for my lap and some handi wipes. |
Most puppies do grow out of it eventually... fingers crossed that yours will! Penny used to get carsick quite a lot, but after about eight months of age it became a lot better and has only happened three times since then (she's almost 2 now, and she rides in the car several times a week). |
car sick YES! Max:aimeeyork is 4 months also and he normally does pretty good when we go to the vet or Petsmart:) which is 10 minutes from my house, BUT the first 1hr long trip, he threw up 4 times:eek::eek::eek::eek:...the only thing I think may make a difference is because he was so small, I could hold him in my lap while I drive and he was fine, now he is almost too big...the hour long trip he was in the back seat by himself... so, I would either try to hold him while i drive or just use plenty of blankets or towels and see how he holds up. charlie get car sick all the time. I found out that if he sees the scenery then he will throw up..otherwise, if i put his carrier on the floor..he is fine. |
Hi, perhaps your yorkie is nervous. What I did with Lexie was, a drive around the block, take a toy or a merricks flossie to keep the baby entertained, keep the mind on something else. Continue making the trip a little longer every time. By going on short trips she isn't thinking car equals the vet. When I was training Zander I would take him in the morning when he was hungry so I would take his bowl of food. Jazzie still gets nervous I give her a calming pill 30 minutes before the drive, it helps. Good luck. |
