fruits? I also was going to mention... what kinds of fruits can you give a yorkie (baby) or should I avoid that at all |
I recvently did some research on this because I was wnating to introduce some new and healthy foods to my Maddie-Cakes. As far as fruits go this is what I found: Avocado contains a toxic component called persin, which can damage heart, lung and other tissue in many animals. Raisins and grapes may lead to kidney failure. Tomatoes, rhubarb, citrus fruits can be bad for pets. This website3 is pretty intereting about not only fruits but other foods we may be tempted to share with our furbabies as well: DOG TRICKS, TIPS AND INSIGHTS, Foods that are Harmful or Fatal to Dogs. __________________________________________ I  MADDIE :aimeeyork |

I sure don't care about the typos =) You just gave me some very good information. Thank you =) |
Soon after finding this site, I realized that there are so many things Maddie could have other than 'dog food'. I was just scared of giving her the wrong thing:( Good Luck to you! _______________________ I  MADDIE :aimeeyork |
Mine like any kind of melon, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches |
Peaches, Bananas and love apples.... |
I didn't know about the citrus, thanks for giving us more information. I have lots of citrus trees but have always been afraid of giving them to Tricksie. |
Thanks for all the info folks! I really like the website as well. I did not know that carrots were hard to digest. Lots to learn here! |
I feed mine blueberries, pieces of apple, banana, pineapple and melons. All in moderation, of course. :) |
I just started giving Tucker baby carrots for treats but the link here says they are hard to digest. Should I not give them to him? |
that website was VERY informational!! the citrus info is good to know, i have given bella grapefruit in the past. The carrot info is also good to know... are carrots easier to digest when they are cooked? |
I give my babies carrot pieces & they've never had a problem with them. As treats or mixed in with their food, but always cut into very small (yorkie yummy sized) pieces. I've used both raw and/or canned. They love them either way. |
yah ok good.. . bella loves carrots! Raw and cooked!!! :) |
my lil Olivia loves carrots, bananas and apples but the apples have to be skinless.... |
