Welcome to yorkietalk! I am sure someone will be able to help with your questions..... |
How old is your yorkie? Does your dog know where the correct place to pee or poop is yet? Do you have anyone else living with you who can help you care for your dog? Yorkies are usually very energetic and need lots of exercise and attention to be happy and healthy. It seems like yorkies have two modes: 1. asleep or 2. awake and exploding with energy. :p Welcome to Yorkie Talk... We are all happy to have you here! Oh, and I don't think you have to worry about yawning. :) Like a human, dogs yawn when they are sleepy. If you have a very young puppy, young puppies are sleepy often. They're growing! My dog yawns several times before and after every nap, and sometimes in between naps too. Lauren & Nikko |
Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! We are glad you are here. :) |
Here is a good site to get started....Welcome to YT....YORKIE PUPPY CARE GUIDE - For New Parents! |
Welcome to YT. You and I have three things in common. I'm in my 50's, I don't know much about computers and we both own Yorkies. This site is great. If you have any questions there is always somebody out there with good suggestions. |
Hello and Welcome to YT! :welcome4::D |
Welcome to YT! There will be alot of people here that can help you with anything you may need to know. What are some questions that you have now that we can get you started on? |
Welcome to YT. You will find all the help you need right here. Is he eating frequently? If he is young you need to know about hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). The best thing is to make sure he is eating several meals a day. If he seems tired or woozy get some nutrical or syrup in to him and call the vet. |
Munchie Quote:
He is 16 months old, he was born October 12 2007. The vet always says he is doing great, but he only weighs 7 pounds and to me looks skinny, i can feel his bones and I don't think that is right. He was misdiagnose with food allergies, and was place in a regimen of food name Z/d and his treats are from Hypoallergenic treats, since July of last year, 7 months, finally the vet got to the conclusion that is not food allergies, so she told me to change his food, I order some special food for Yorkies in the Internet, it supposed to be real good, but it will get here nest wednesday, is food like for humans, with real meet and vegetables, and kilated vitamins and minerals, so I hope this is really good for him. I also going to stop the front line plus spot drops, I found something in CIDER SIDE that is with no chemicals. Please forgive, English is difficult for me. Thanks a lot for answering me. Have a great Day.:aimeeyorkGINAROD |
Nice to meet you Quote:
Munchie is very active, he has his toys, and run in the back yard, and when he gets tires, is like he knocks at the door, he hits the door ones and waits until some opens the door for him. Also I have a lady who comes every day and she helps me a lot with Munchie as well as my husband, but I can move around, I just have to be very careful on how to do things. Well, I think I have answer your questions, thanks a lot for answer me. Have a wonderful day. GINAROD |
Hi Hello and Sasha and I welcome yo to YT. By the way, your English is very good. If Munchie is eating and playing things are not as bad. You mentioned he is 7 lbs that's great, he must be very cute. I would be worried if he was less than 3 lbs. About the Yawns well, What's does the vet says? I just hope he is not in any kind of pain. If you have talked about this to your current vet but it has been going on for a while, I would consider a second opinion. Take him to a different vet. Take care and hope Munchie feels better |
He is well Quote:
Every time I take Munchie to the vet, she just tells me he is doing great, but I can fell his bones, I don't know if that is normal, he is my first Yorke and every thing is new for me, so I just love to find this place where I can talk to people who knows a lot more than i do. Thanks, GINAROD |
Usually, the dog is healthy if you can feel his ribs with your fingers. If you can't feel ribs at all, he may be overweight. But if you can see his ribs, he is probably underweight. You might have to use your imagination a little if his hair is long. Hope that helps... I'm sure if your vet says he is healthy, he is fine. Lauren & Nikko |
