Questions about chewy things Over the past week I've noticed that Missy throws up at around 4:30 am. After talking to the vet and some detective work we figured out it was because of the Piggy twists I've been giving her. I was told that these are good treats but I guess not for my girl. I have eliminated nylabones, rawhide, and now piggy twist, but without them, she goes after my furniture so I have to find something for her to chew on. I've done some research and see the bully stick are ok and my vet also suggested frozen carrots. Anybody have any suggestions. I can't have her chew up my furniture and she's happy with her chewy things. I also tried Kongs stuffed with peanut butter and she threw up the peanut butter. My sweety has a sensitive constitution. She does love frozen banans but tends to inhale them so they are useless as a chewy thing. |
I also had to find something for Snickers since Bully Sticks/Pig anything/Animal parts completely gross me out and rawhide is dangerous. I found these which are a god send and my Snickers LOVES and knaws at for a good chunck of time. They are called Sams Yams and are all natural sweet potato chews. I use Berry Yammy cookies which are grainless and are very tough so a great chew. Here is the website: Sweet Potato Dog Chews and treats from - Front Porch Pets Good luck.... |
you could also try freeze dried chicken treats... i've seen them at pet stores. |

Thank you for your responses. I have seen the yamms suggested before. I think I'll try those. Missy is a powerful chewer, hopefully the yams will slow her down. lol |
IMO, Bully Sticks are the way to go ;) |
