INFO: If you live in a farming comunity and if you live where you have a lot of wildlife in or near your property then yes I'd get the vac. If not than I would really think aboutit. Also Lepto comes in so many different strains that the shot simply does not cover. so your dog even if Vacinnated for Lepto can still pick up one of those strains not ocvered by the shot. I would really discuss this with your vet and make a informed decision! |

If the vet was clearly instructed not to give the shot then i think you have grounds for a lawsuit. Dont get me wrong, I am not a sue happy person but if it is the only way to put a stop to this then i would by all means sue the vet. |

I would rather have my dogs vaccinated, then worrying about them getting a virus that can kill them. I will take my chances. If they were ever to have a reaction to it, then of course I wouldnt do it again but untill then I will continue to have them vaccinatedfrom it. Im sorry to hear that the pup ended up so ill. My vet won't give the Lepto to these little guys. He said unless Piper is running through the woods all the time there isn't ever a need for it. |

Question Okay..... So what shots do your dog NEED and what shots do they recommend but can live without? I'm getting my baby this weekend and I do not want them to stick anymore needles then they have to. I live in the city so we don't have a lot of wild animals. The craziest ones I have to say are squirrels. haha. But other then that nothing else. Shes going to be in my house pretty much all day. So does anybody know what shots our puppies HAVE TO HAVE and the ones they can LIVE WITHOUT? Anybody who knows anything . . .it would be greatly appreciated if you share. Because US newbies do not have a clue |

I am so confused my vet has recommended the lepto vaccine..i have been putting it off after reading about the reactions it causes,at the same time i dont want to be worrying that he may contract something if i choose not to vaccinate...is it really necessary? i feel i am dammed if i do and dammed if i dont!!!!...:) |
