Rubbing face in carpet Krissy has gotten into a habit of rubbing her face in the carpet and growling when she does it. I am not sure if maybe it is a rash on her face. She had liver test done before and they came back normal. She is 5 months old. She eate Nature's Recipe and seemed to do great on it. We are just now getting to the point of straight NR. We were mixing with Royal Canine that she came from the breeder on. She doesn't seem to itch to much unless we have her harness on. She is going to the vet next week. |
Sounds normal to me. Ellie does that after she eats sometimes or after a bath. |
That's fine... both of my dogs do that. Smokey runs with his face on anything (and his butt in the air lol)... grass, carpet, the couch, piles of clothes... Chip just rolls around and growls on the carpet. Some people say that they are putting their scent on whatever it is. |
:yorkiesarPoppy does exactly the same after she has eaten anything! I think sometimes it just feels good to them like having a good rub, as far as i'm concerned it's totally normal. |
Juicy also does it after a bath and eating .:) |
Chachi does it after a bath |
Thanks everyone. I really didn't want to think it was anything I would have to change her food for. We have been through a lot of samples because she is so picky and we finally have her on a food she likes. |
Maddy does this after a bath. As well as rolling around in my down comforter like a lunatic!! |
I'm not clear; does she do this only after eating or a bath? On a side note, I use to keep the hair on the bridge of the nose clipped short, but occasionally it would grow too fast and poke Joey in the eye, leading to rubbing his face on the carpet. Joey got eye ulceration, and the vet suspected rubbing his face on the carpet caused the scratch. We have since grown out the hair enough that it doesn't poke him in the eyes. Also the corn in RC can cause itching in some dogs who are allergic to corn. |
