she ate a raisin... My 8 month old yorkie Mija ate a raisin by accident last night and I know that raisins can be very harmful for dogs. She only ate one but the thing is that she is very tiny...she only weighs 2 lbs. This morning she is acting like her normal self and looks perfectly fine. Does anyone know what the symptoms would be if she were to get sick and if i should worry at all over 1 raisin? |

The symptoms would be those of renal failure. Not all dogs have a sensitivity to them though. |

I think eating ONE is probably ok. But I'm glad that you're concerned-I would be too..just shows you love your furbaby! :) If she has no symptoms, I wouldn't worry too much about one raisin. |

I think she will be fine! If she is not showing any symptons by now, I believe she will be ok! |

ok thanks for the reassurance! i'm always worrying...I don't want anything to happen to her<3 |

She would have to eat more than one and/or eat them on a regular basis. |

If she accidentally gets a raisin again, I would recommend inducing vomitting right away to keep her from digesting. Like Ellie May said - no known minimum dosage is known and it's probably different for each dog...and as of right now they don't even know what it is about grapes & raisins that cause renal failure. Most likely she'll be fine, but if you notice any signs of renal failure be sure to take her in ASAP |
