Help - Not Sure If Carson Was Neutered Correctly Hi everyone, Okay, Carson was neutered today - acting fine, eating, etc. So I thought I would check his stitches before bed and make sure there is no infection. Okay, the skin that held his testacles is still there - but empty. The incision is between the end of his penis and his testiciles. Oscar wasn't this way when he came home nine years ago - unless it was there and just flattened out. All I know is that he did not have any hanging skin at all. I am kind of grossed out by it – was this done correctly? Was there a choice? Why did the vet not remove the skin? Thank you! |
Yes, he was neutered correctly. They don't actually incise and remove the scrotum. Instead they made an incision in front of the scrotum. Eventually the scrotum ill shrink and you won't have the skin just hanging there |
Whew, thank you! |
