Bella was stung by a bee! We had just let Bella out to go potty--it had only been like a minute. The next thing we knew, our poor Bella came limping in. At first, i Ithought she had hurt her leg. When my husband and i Igot closer, we noticed a bee still hanging in her fur. Anyone know what we should do?!? We were able to get the stinger out, and i Iwas reading on a website to apply a paste of baking soda and water onto the bite, but she licks that off (even though we do try to stop her). We also tried to apply ice, but she isn't fond of that either. Think she will be okay?!? Anymore ideas of what to do would be appreciated! |
Sorry your baby got stung by a bee. Don't have answers for you but I'll bump this up for you! |
1/2 teaspoon of baby benadryl stings can be dangerous. |
how much does she weight? 5 lbs is 1 cc. Call an emergency vet and see what they say. Usually they have you do one dose of benadryl and watch them. Is she acting ok? |
Thanks for your replies. Bella is doing fine. She doesn't seem to be having a reaction. She's breathing fine, and the bite isn't red anymore. She just is still limping around. I think I'll call the vet in the morning if she's still limping, just to be on the safe side. Any other information would be great! Thanks again! :) |
Poor Bella, you may wanna post under the Sick&Injured/Emergency area to see if there is anything else you could do. Were you able to get the stinger out? Poor thing. |

Thanks for your response. You know what the emergency vet said?...."I can't really tell you anything over the phone."....I think they wanted me to bring her in, just so they could tell me what to do and charge me an arm and a leg. |
Wow how rude. Usually they will help over the phone with a little information. I would call around. Is she better? Hope so! |
