Bilateral Patella Luxation JoJo is 8 1/2 months old. Today, he was diagnosed with bilateral patella luxation. Our vet says he will need to have surgery but it does not have to be done immediately. I was heartbroken to hear this today and will need to discuss further with the vet before scheduling. I would appreciate input from those of you who have experienced this (success, recovery, cost of surgery, etc. Thanks, Glenda - JoJos Mama |
What grade is it? Does he carry his legs or limp? Did the vet tell you to use glucosamine for now? |
The vet did not tell me what grade it was, however, from what I've read since we have been home, sounds like it may be a grade 3. JoJo will hold his leg out to the side or skip a little when he has been running and playing hard. We only notice this when he is tired. Most of the time he prances around like a show dog. I will ask the vet about glucosamine. Thanks. |
