His paws are sensitive to rock salt... I live in the city and they have been salting the sidewalks like crazy. I think it's making his paws irritated. After a long walk, he lifts one of his legs and wants to lick the paw. I heard that salt can sting :(! I don't want to put booties on him because he refuses to walk in shoes. Are there any creams or gels that can be used as a protectant? Does anyone have a product recommendation? Thanks! |
Any chance you can walk him where there isn't any rock salt? It's very harsh on their pads and cause cracking and blistering. You could try some Vaseline on and inbetween his pads before going out. Always remember to wash the pads VERY well once you return home. Good Luck! |
