Vet Tomorrow so tomorrow im bringing baby olivia back to the vet for her second visit..... what shots is she going to get?? rabies?? should i be scared?? monday i bring her to the groomers for the first time and shes going to get top knotted some how i dont think she has that much hair for that but oh well....any ideas for colors for her...i think its kinda a lil early for her to get st patricks day bow... comment back please..... |
She shouldn't be around any dogs that you do not know (groomers, boarding, dog park, etc.) until about 1 week after her last round of puppy shots. Rabies should never be given at the same time as any other vaccine. She will probably get DHPP. Before allowing the vet give lepto or corona, please research and see if that is what you want to do. |
i was going to take her to petco monday for her to get groomed?? is that wrong?? |

I can only tell you that personally I would not take my dog if she hadn't completed her pup shots (which should happen right around 16 weeks). It isn't worth the risk. They shouldn't really be grooming dogs that young because of this. |
I personally would not take my dog to the groomer at such a young age. I would want all rounds of DHPP to be complete first. Parvo is VERY contagious and usually fatal...puppies are extremely susceptible...I personally would not risk it. It's such a common disease that you really are taking a risk. A 3 month old puppy really should need any grooming at this point anyway...other than a bath and nail trim the only thing I can think that they'd do is maybe trim paws and tip the ears. I would personally wait another month. Also, I have personally never heard of a great grooming experience at any Petco. Of course it all depends on the groomer, but I've heard so many unhappy complaints. I know at the Petco here they can shave short or shorter...that's about it. You take your dog in, it comes out shaved in this town. |
