how long to feed puppy food I have heard that you should start transitioning your puppy around 8 to 10 months to adult dog food, I have also heard to wait until they are a year. which is correct? |
My Vet told me a year |
My vet told us a year and I've also heard that from many people here on YT. |
I transitioned my two at 10 months with no problems. |
We starting mixing in the adult with the puppy at a year. It went great. |
Weird thing, my vet is into alternative stuff, and she doesn't recommend puppy food at all. |
I don't think there is THE perfect time, but I switched around 10-12 months. |
My vet told me to switch after Sadie was neutered at 6 months. I think she worried about her putting on weight. Now I wonder if I did the right thing...although some foods work for the entire life cycle. |
I started changing my furbaby over about 4 weeks before she turned a year. It happened to work out that exactly when she turned a year, she was 100% on adult food. |
