Baron's getting neutered this month and have a few baby teeth removed. It's going to cost $500.00 plus for just that. The Vet I used to work for wanted $700.00...I think it's ridiculous!!! |
Geeh and I was complaining about the $96.00 bucks I have to pay for Gucci's dental cleaning. I simply can't brush his teeth everyday. I tried when he was a puppy. Bought him all sort of cool/fancy/state-of-the-art toothbrush and paste, but it was like pulling teeth! Finally I heard the vet does it and I've just been doing that. Every 6 months. Although he hasn't had his cleaned in a while. Oh, another thing, I have this vet (well had) that would just do things on my dog without asking. Like he pulled one of his teeth b/c he said it was too damaged/rotten. Or gave him some shot that was missing out of his vet book. I feel he did this to bump up the price. They'll pull all sort of tricks! |

You're right--knew I forgot something!! But, yes, everyone will get fluids bc of the amount of bacteria he stirs up in there. Plus, he does alot of older babies and it's easier on their kidneys to have fluids to flush the anesthic drugs get out of their system faster. |
:DPrince's vet in Tampa charges $175.00. His vet here in GA charges $260.00. I schedule his cleanings when I'm going to be in Tampa, where they have know him since birth. |
Wow, that sounds high! I am in Fort Worth and when I got quote last year it was $100. I have a friend who is a hollistic groomer, she used to be a vet tech for years. She does teeth scaling at her place for $15. She uses sterile tools and is very careful. Very professional. She has done that once with Wookie:aimeeyork and I clean his teeth weekly. He is 3 years old and that is all he has had to have done. I am glad, I don't like the idea of putting him under once a year for cleaning like his old vet suggested. |
Prevention is the key. Daily brushing and dry dog food is working for us. |
The vets are full of it I will ony do a dental if they need to have there teeth pulled and thats when there still a pup so I have them fixed at the same time other then that I swear by petzlife if there teeth is heavey tarter do it 2xs a day for a month and then tell me if they still need a cleaning the vets are just taking advantage of our love for pets. |
I paid $175.00 last year for Zaira. She got all the fluids and pain shot and all of her yearly shots at the same time. My vet included a dental kit that you use weekly to help prevent tarter but Zaira hates it. She hates to brush her teeth too so I have to have hers cleaned. This year we are going to get spayed at the same time. I live in southern Missouri. |
My vet wants me to get Hailey's teeth cleaned and they gave me an estimate that ranges from a low total of 450.00 to a high total of 670.00!!!!!!! I was in shock.:2omg: |
