Im beside myself i hear the younger they are the better i really stressed anyone had this done? thanks |
No I have never had to go through anything like this with my babies. I'm sure someone on YT will give you great advice and good luck with you baby. Welcome to YT. |
I haven't had this with my current dogs, but my Pomeranian I had years ago had this with one of his knees. He was under 2 years old. He, like your pup, got to the point where it really hurt him so I took him to the vet. He even did a drawing of the leg and knee area - showing how the ligament on one side had become not only stretched, but detached, and the cap shifted over. He explained that he would make a grove under where the knee cap is normally to help keep it in place when he put some type of replacement material on that side & connected it so everything would stay in place. BooBear was great after the operation. He never had any other trouble with that knee, or the good one either. Best to your little baby pup! |
Reb had knee surgery when he was not quite a year old. A great vet did his surgery, he stayed overnight and I picked him up the next day. The first couple of days were hard - he was groggy and in pain. After that the problem was keeping him from doing too much. He had to stay in a kennel unless he was in my arms or I was carrying him outside to potty. He did really well, and never bothered his cast/bandages at all. He's 2 years old now and is doing great! Good luck to your baby! |
