Teeth?? 2 Attachment(s) Okay so we were checking the babies teeth tonight because my neighbor that has the other boy from our litter had two of his big teeth (canines??)One right behind the other.... My moms maverick was the same way....I checked Bailey, and she has the same thing but on both sides? What causes this are they going to have to be pulled? Im worried.....they all seem fine and dont seemed bothered by it.... Here is a picture of what it looks like! Sorry the pictures are that great! I also put a picture show her top set as well. Thanks any help would be great! |
I forgot to mention she is still losing some teeth and she is 6 months old. |
most say wait about a year when she gets spayed and see if most of teeth have fallen out. if not then they will do it while spaying |

Im not going to spay her so will they still remove them later if they dont fall out? |
Lexi had some teeth pulled while she was spayed. Unfortunately, more "extras" grew in afterwards - that is, the adult teeth came in but the baby teeth didn't fall out. She has the double canines too - very sharp little suckers - times two!! The vet said to wait until she's about a year and has a checkup and then we will make a decision. I don't want her to go under anesthesia again. I'm hoping they will come out on their own... Having her teeth pulled during her spay did not seem to bother Lexi at all. She ate some kibble that night when she got home, and seemed fine. If there was any discomfort, she didn't show it. |
One of Finnnigan's did that, but eventually the baby tooth fell out after a couple of weeks. |
in Dec I took Samson to the vet because I noticed his adult canine teeth came in but the puppy teeth did not fall out (he had 4 canine on the bottom), then the vet checked and he actually had 8 canine teeth in...4 on top and 4 on bottom. She gave me until end of Feb for them to fall out and then they'll have to pull them. 3 of the 4 fell out but one is just being stubborn. the vet said if they aren't pull they can get infected. she said normally when they get fixed they check for this so they can pull them out while they are under but his teeth came in after he was fix and said he must have been a "late bloomer". I am pretty sure he'll have to go under again to take out the one tooth. |
Yeah there mom was young when we got her and i dont remember if we had this issue three of the babies i know have this the boys seem to only have the bottom one left as Bailey has both (two) if that makes any since......the boys seem to have lost all their baby teeth and Bailey is still loosing ... so does it sound like im okay? I worry about my little monkey! |
SophieKate had two teeth pulled when she was spayed. The Vet told me after that the baby teeth were not close to falling out. My Vet gave me the extracted teeth, I am surprised how big they are. I should have put them under SophieKates pilow for the Tooth Fairy. |

he won't let us touch his mouth unless he is asleep, even then it only takes a few seconds for him to move away from me. we bought him several hard items to chew on and we hold them in our hand so we can have control over which side he chews on to focus on that one tooth. we can tell it is being pushed back more and more by the adult tooth but it is holding on. we still have 4 weeks until the vet rechecks him but it is the most stubborn tooth, I guess it matches his personality though  |
Angel has baby teeth that didn't fall out ...she has an appt. in Feb. to get them removed...she is also being micro chipped too... Her breath smells so bad....The vet said that's why... I also have Cool & Clear on order for my babies.... |

My girl, Maisie, who is nearly 7 months old now, has exactly the same tooth problem. The baby canine behind the adult one. I'm hoping to get her spayed some time in the next few weeks so they'll just be pulled them at the same time. I think she's pretty much finished teething now so they'll be the last to come out I reckon. Jess :heart to |
Starla, you have some time, but I wouldn't wait too long. If you wait until a year and the teeth are moved because of the extra baby tooth, chances are that when they remove the baby tooth, the adult teeth will stay in the position they are in.. So if the teeth are moved out of alignment, they will stay out of alignment. Rainbow has one like that and she had the baby teeth pulled at 8 months old. Now her permanemt tooth on one side is out of alignment |
most vets will say wait till 1 year to see if the fall out on their own. It kind of depends on the vet. |

the ones with the adult and baby teeth arent loose at all....she just has a few baby teeth (small ones) that are loose in front! |
My Mocha is in the same boat as Lexi! At his recent annual check-up, the vet noticed his double canines and told me they should be extracted. Like you, I'm really nervous about putting him under anesthesia again (he's only 3lbs). Mocha is 1 1/2 years old, so the vet said I can book the appointment any time, but I'm still unsure if I should go through with it :embarasse Do you know if this is something that's really neccessary, or would it be ok to leave it? Do you know what you're going to do if you have to make that decision? Quote:

yes his baby tooth is in front. |

Mine had terrible breath when he had all 4 and my vet told me about pet oral care. I love this stuff, you mix it with their water. Petkin Liquid Oral Care at PETCO |

She doesn't let me touch them, really, but from the little I've felt, I don't think they are loose. After reading the other posts, I will check again, and if they seem loose at all, I will try to work on them every day. I just don't know what I will decide, and I guess what I hear from the vet will help me in making my decision. Good luck to you! :animal-pa |

She was about 10 and 11 months when she got her dentals at 5.5 to ounces shy of 6 lbs. Depending on your baby's growth, it might not always work out for the better to wait it out but it's a per case judgement call. |
