Best insurance for dogs (from experience) I just adopted a baby yorkie and I've seen a thread on here for ins. I'm wondering if anyone has it and has used it before without any trouble. thanks, Connie |
I'm not really sure what TO recommend but I can tell you I would NOT recommend VPI Pet Insurance. They didn't cover Teddi's liver shunt surgery or any of her hosptialization or any of her testing or doctor visits. They said that they pay on final diagnosis and that liver shunts are not covered. I did not take her to the doctor for a liver shunt...that was the final result but I think they should have paid for the tests up until they found out that's what it was but they didn't pay a dime!!! The only thing I see that it is good for is if your dog breaks his leg or something like that. Plus they cover such a little percent I would just put the money it costs for the insurance in a separate "doggie" account and use that when you need it. |
It's not an insurance "policy" but Care Credit used to offer low or no interest charge payment plans. Care Credit is not only for pets but dental if the provider is in their lists. You can pick up an app at your vet or dentist offices and call the phone numbers to ask for info. I really do not know what their interest policies would be like in the current economic situation but in Dec 05 and Sep 06 for Annie's tie back and DJ's biopsies it was 0% for x number of months. May want to look at other pet insurance companies and see what you can afford and what they will cover. Ask people at the vet. In these times you have to really do your homework/research. PM me if you would like more info. |
