Best food to supplement with Kibble We usually supplement the kibble with a bit of canned food but I would like to make it a bit healthier for her. It will not be more than 10% of her main food, but I still want to make sure that she is getting her nutrition. Does anyone else do this? What do you usually give? |
We don`t have a good pet shop where I can buy food in my town, so I am lucky to have found some ok canned food at the grocery store and wal-mart. I use about a tablespoon of canned food with each meal and warm it in the microwave. I use Brandon Farms Brandon Farms™ Naturals and Newman`s Own Newman's Own Organics Premium Pet Food |
If the food you're using is balanced, there is no need to supplement (unless you mean with vitamins or fish oil or something like that). Doing so will cause imbalance in nutrition and can cause health problems. |
I supplement with chicken and rice or ground sirloin and rice, for 30 years now,vet approves and the dogs in my life have thrived. |
Oh, yeah, I don't really *supplement* with the canned food I mentioned - Hiro just likes eating some canned with his kibbles! ^^; |
what about any home cooked things to give instead of the canned? I also have thought about starting her on fish oil since she seems to have dry skin in the winter. |
I haven't tried cooking much for him, he just eats some raw veggies... I don't know the first thing about home cooking for your yorkie, but there is a sticky at the top of this forum ---> http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...od-treats.html But my Hiro loves... LOVES brocolli. He used to eat carrots, but snubs them now in favour of brocolli... |
