I need help with itchy dog!! My Zoe has the itchies so bad!!! she is constantly chewing, rubbing, and scratching herself!! Her skin is flaky, and I have no clue what to do!! She is on Wellness, and I have tried all different kinds of shampoos.. Help pls!!!! TIA |
Some people swear by oatmeal shampoos but if the dry skin is from something internal she may need some omega 3 oils, as in salmon oil....I hear the salmon oils do wonders for skin and coat problems....I ordered this Gold Sea Pet Oil because it has vitamin e in it and they need that with the omega 3 oils to work together....Good luck and I hope she feels better soon..... Most of itching is due to dry soap in the coat . |
Shorty used to be itching a lot on her back, probably due to dry skin. So I got her Pet Head life's a itch shampoo, and it worked really well. also, you might want to switch to the ocean formula if you are on wellness. but if its really really bad it might be something more serious that requires vet attention~ |
About how long does it take to see any results when giving salmon oil/ |
Maggie had the itchies really really bad too and we tried about everything without any success. Then our vet suggested to switch from Frontline to Comfortis b/c it could be a flea allergy. We did that and we have an itch free girl ever since... |
Do you give them human oil, or are there special ones for dogs? Sorry your baby isn't feeling well. |

Itchy too! I just got my 9 wk old Yorkie Zeus on Saturday. I have not bathed him yet because when I asked both the breeder and vet told me to only do so once a month. I do use between bath wipes after he potties several times a day. I also brush him one to two times a day I feed him Royal Canine Babydog 30 and use the Just as fresh wipes. I noticed he is itching quite a bit as if he has fleas but I see no sign of that. What might I do for him? |
