Hi girls... I am SO SO SO tempted to start my Snickers on the NV rotation diet b/c quite frankly, I am so sick of his picky eating habits and him picking his kibble and me worrying about his health and nutrition. My husband thinks I'm crazy for stressing about it so much, but he understands too. So my questions... 1) How do you serve the raw medallion? Do you thaw it 1st and then serve, or is it served frozen?? 2) Is it stinky/does it smell? 3) Does it gross you out ever? (I was a vegetarian for 10 yrs!-I don't know if I can handle...but I want the best for Snick) 4) Should I not get it if I plan to have a baby in 2010?? 5) Is it super expensive?? I emailed for the Buy One get one Free coupon:). 6)Have your dogs ever refused the madallion or the kibble? I would only do the raw and kibble, no canned. Currently I am feeding (or trying to get him to eat) NB Sweet Potato and Venison. He LOVES his Venison Wellness Jerky Treats, so we tried this food...again--he is not diggin it much. But I hope he will soon. I'm gonna give it a few days...who knows!! I'm just a little weary of the raw... THANK YOU!!!!! -Viv and Snick:animal-pa |
I wonder why they source rabbit from China for the raw food but rabbit from somewhere else (maybe the US?) for the canned and kibble? Why not just get it all from here? I guess the price. It just seems odd they source the rabbit from different places depending on the type of food it's to be used in. I started feeding NV kible a little while ago and after some reading I was also concerned about the them sourcing meat from China. I'm still not sure about it yet , I will have to keep reading.:D |

I'll try to answer all I can: 1) The medallions should be moved from the freezer to the refrigerator several hours before feeding to thaw out. They are served cold but not frozen. 2) The only time I smelled anything was when I put my nose right up to the medallions and sniffed (I was curious). 3) It's never grossed me out. It's just a small cold patty. 4) Since it's just meat & veggies I don't think there's any harm. The packaging should say. 5) It's more expensive than some, but not the most expensive. I think it's worth it. 6) Mine have never refused them. But I have four and they think eating is a competition and would never allow one of the others to have their 'treat'. I think it's definitely worth trying. Like everything else, it may not be the right food for you and Snickers but it's impressed me. A quick note on the Instinct kibble - it smells so much more appetizing than any other brand I've tried so far. |
