help me! he won't eat the natural balance food either. I don't know what to do. I decided to adjust him to it by putting it in his crate so that he has no choice but to it eat when he is hungry. he stayed as far away in the crate as possible too. I don't know what else to feed him and what is wrong with him |
Try boiling some chicken and then soaking the kibble in the broth from it, add some of the chicken meat to it as an extra bonus. Is this something you are just changing him over to or is this the same food he has been on all a long? |
this is his diet...when he was with his previous owner he ate kibbles and bits..the day that I got him, he wouldn't eat those..so we kept feeding it to him..my husband went and brought alpo wet feed to mixed in with his kibbles and bits 2 days after he came to us b/c he wasn't eating..he ate it for 2 days then decided he didn't want that.. so my father in law went to a feed store and got him 3 samples of taste of the wild..we mixed them in with his kibbles and bits..he ate it for two days and then didn't want it anymore..so my mother in law went to this store and got him a cheap brand puppy food (champs)..he didn't really like it but will eat it once in awhile until last week. He decided he didn't want that anymore so I decided to put him on a better diet..first got him nutro max but he didn't like it so last night i took it back and exchange it for natural balance potatoe and duck. the lady promised me he will go for it..i tried it this morning and he won't eat it...he hasn't eaten all day...don't know where he is getting his poop from..his bathroom has been regular..He has been living with us for almost a month..got him on December 24th. he is addicted to beggin bacon strips..we gave him this for going potty outside and for training..however, he only gets a tiny tiny piece.. one piece of beggin bacon will last us for 3-4 days (depending on training exercise). I think this is the reason why he won't eat his food..he wants bacon only. He likes the milk bones too but will only eat the bacon flavor bone...will not eat any other flavor milk bone..one little milkbone will last him all week. i break it off into little pieces too. |
Pasquale eats Natural Balance....granted he didnt like the Potato and Duck either. However, he was a picky eater in the beginning too. I would mix his kibble with FF plain yogurt or FF cottage cheese. Id rotate that way he wouldnt get bored. Eventually i just gave him the dry kibble and now i save the yogurt and cottage cheese as a treat. Dogs are like humans...they need a little variety. Hope all goes well. |

I would say try being a bit more patient with getting him to eat. Not sure how old your furbaby is, but they can be picky eaters in the begining. Especially since you mentioned that he had a previous owner. I've had Meka since 9wks and there were times in the begining that she wouldnt eat unless I put the kibble in my hand. I think you've been through quite a few different brands already in less than a month. Try sticking with one of them and adding some things to it that might help him eat it (i.e: water, broth). |
olivia didnt like it we tryed that when she was finished with the mighty dog that the breeder gave us when i got her. but we just went back to mighty dog bc she likes that...she eats the dry food though...:animal-pa:animal-pa |
