Do yorkies have menstral cramps LIKE US? My baby girl Ginger just came into her first heat(she will be a year in march) and she is swollen, even her belly is larger.I was just wondering if dogs have cramps too.She seems to want to stay close to me and sleep other than that she is still acting normal. I just feel bad for her she seems too small to be having a heat, her older sis(not by blood) is well over a year and has not had one yet. Any advice to make her more comfortable I would appreciate Thanks. |
My guess is that they probably do - simply because (if my biology serves me aright) the engorging of blood vessels in a yorkie is not dissimilar to that in us humans, which can result in cramps. Either way, she's probably feeling a bit 'down' (don't most of us?) - so a little extra TLC certainly won't do her any harm! |
Thanks, I have been cuddling her as much as she wants and rubbing her belly. I just wish there was something I could give her to ease her discomfort.:( |
I think they probably do. Just a lot of TLC and maybe a soft warm blanket to snuggle in. |
