Splitting up a large dose of Advantage? I was reading somewhere that you can buy a dose of Advantage for XL dogs and use a 1 ml syringe to split up the dose for a smaller dog to save money. Has anyone heard of this or do this? Is this safe? I like the way Advantage works, but I am finding it difficult to spend $50 a month on it for my 4 animals (2 cats, 2 dogs). Advantage seems to be the only thing that completely controls the fleas. Any ideas would be appreciated. |
I used to use half an application of Frontline on mine. The weight was up to 22 pounds...and they weighed far less than that. It still worked. The cats I never divided because the weight limit was closer to what mine weighed. The packaging has changed on frontline...you get a vial with the product and an applicator. I'm sure you know...but don't put dog flea medication on a cat. |
