Regular feeding schedule? Help? Hello Yorkie Lovers, I am new to mothering my new baby and although he is healthy, happy and well-fed I was curious as to your own feeding routines and schedules. Although mine is somewhatly regular, I would like to introduce a more-regular routine including other snacks like yogurt, apples and carrots. Please let me know how you feed your Yorkie babies. Thanks, Amber & Benz:aimeeyork |
I free feed all my little ones. As far as apples, I never give more than 2 pieces(without skin) as it can cause diarrhea(learned that the hard way :( Carrots I give either shredded or the small ones that have the peeling off, I usually break those in 1/2. You can do a search on foods toxic to dogs and get a big list of foods that can harm or even kill your pup. Congrats on your baby, they're kind of addictive |
Franklin and Maggie are 1 and 4 years old. They eat 2-3 times a day. Usually somewhere between 1/8-1/4 cup for breakfast and dinner and 1/4 cup for lunch. We give snacks occasionally - mine LOVE apples. They can eat up to a whole apple between the two of them with no problems although I wouldn't suggest more than a couple of pieces starting out. It can cause some tummy upset. Not sure if I've ever given them carrots, but a lot of members give peeled baby carrots. If you give yogurt, give the plain low-fat (no flavoring) once a day. I would suggest with breakfast; it'll add some probiotics! |
