vet visits how much do they usually cost? I want to take Charlie to visit the vet just to make sure he is in good condition. i have him for almost a month now and we have not yet visit the vet. According to my husband's coworker (previous owner of Charlie), he has gotten his deworming and other shots the day before we adopted him. We have his health information from the owner. |
An office call is anywhere from $20-$65 or so. How many sets of shots has he had and did he get his rabies? |
My first vet visit cost $85, but Baxter had fleas and tapeworms. And had to get his first set of shots. His second visit was $60... Soo. Hope that helps some! :) |
thanks! I don't know if he got his rabies shot. I need to talk to his previous owner to see what kind of shots he needs to get. All I know is that he got his distemper hepatitis, canine parvovirus, parainfluenza shots, and fecal/deworming (strongdid) on 11/20/2008 (8 weeks). He also got the fecal/deworming (strongdid) on Dec 23 the day before my husband brought him home to surprise me. Now he is 17 months. I don't want him to fall behind in his shots. Plus we live out in the country and I don't want him to catch anything bad considering that he loves to eat/lick everything he see around the house and outside. |
Baron was 6 months when I got him. He got a 1 year Rabies shot, Ist. Lyme Disease shot{they need 2- 3 weeks apart}...A stool check and it cost $192.00. Vets in PA. cost ALOT!!! He now needs neutered and the cheapest I found was $500 plus he has a couple baby teeth to remove!!! Hope this helps...Good-Luck...:animal-pa |
wow! that is a lot to get your puppy neuter. Charlie needs to get neuter soon too. I wonder if anyone lives in the Banning or Beaumont, CA area that can give me information on a great and affordable place I can take Charlie to. I am currently unemployed at the moment and won't be able to afford anything expensive yet. thanks! |
If he only got DHPP one time at 8 weeks, he is way behind. He should've gotten another set at 12 weeks and then another at 16 weeks. Your vet may restart the vaccine process. |
on the health form, the previous vet did cirlce CAV-2, Canine P, Parainfluenza and bordetella at 12 wks. CAV-2, Canine P, Parainfluenza, rabies, and bordetella at 16 wks. However, there is no date by it so I don't know if Charlie actually got the shots or not. The shots he recieved at 8wks has the date by it. So I don't know. I should have my husband check with the previous owner. |

It only cost me $35.00 for the visit, but then it is extra for treatment. They had a vaccination package that was only $100.00 for everything, including a stool sample, and deworming. However, when Suzi was ill the costs were higher. |

Good plan for nueters and puppy shots I purchased the Banfield Pet Hospital wellness plan (AT Petsmart's) and it has saved me a ton a money!!! It cost 95.00 one time fee and 21.95 a month! It covered his neuter and all of his shots, deworming, check up, ear check, free bag of food, and more. Then it covers all office visits 100% all year, you just have to pay for medicines. Example: If your little guy or girl has an ear infection and you go to the Banfield Hospital, you pay only if he needs medicines, NO office visit charge. Check it out, it is a real money saver for me!!! Banfield.net |
