What can I use besides Nutri-Cal??? I went on a mission to find Nutri-Cal today (I get my Yorkie in 2 weeks and want to be prepared!) and cannot find it anywhere! Is there something else that I could use instead? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!:) |
You can use a little bit of Karo syrup. May I suggest that you check the Petsmart website...... or any other pet supplies website for Nutrical? |
It should be white Karo syrup. I think the small amount of vitamins they throw into Nutri-cal don't add up enough to make any significant difference, but it does come in a handy portable tube. It's available at Petsmart. |
My vet told me karo syrup also(which is white corn syrup), you can also use a little honey. I have to give mine a little corn syrup usually once a week, only when she's not wanting to eat. The only thing I don't like about it, is it's so dang messy. But, I can't see spending money on nutrical when the syrup works just as well, and I can use the syrup for baking, etc. |

i use honey. you just want something high enough in sugar to bring their levels up quickly. HOwever, that being said. i've never had to use it. |

Thanks a lot! Now I can stop hunting for it! ;) |
There's also NUTRI-PET just like nutri-cal just different brand. It's very handy and my baby loves the taste :) |
