Vomiting at Night??? I already posted this thread, but I accidentally posted it in the "Health and Diet" section...woops. For the last four nights now, Miles has woken up and vomited. Just once, and then he'll go back to sleep. He acts fine, has plenty of energy, has a great appetite, and his pooping is on a normal schedule. When I've "inspected" what he's thrown up, it's nothing unusual. The first couple nights there was just some food and partially digested treats. The past two nights, it's happened early in the morning, and it's just a tiny bit of "stomach juice". He hasn't thrown up at all during the day. Just once a night. When I posted this in the other section, it was suggested that perhaps he was getting too hot at night. This made sense, since he just recently started sleeping under the blankets. So last night, I made him sleep on top of the blankets like he used to...and he still woke up and vomited at 5 am! It was also suggested that his stomach might be too empty, so I gave him a snack before bed...and that didn't work either! I'm stumped on this! He doesn't act sick at all! Why would a dog wake up and vomit just once every night, and be fine otherwise??? |
Actually, this would go in the health and diet or sick and emergency section. :) If it has happened four nights in a row and giving a snack before bed isn't working, he may need to be seen. What food and treats is he eating? |
Yeah, I thought about it, and then I was thinking that "Health and Diet" maybe wasn't the best section for it...I don't know! :) I'm at work right now (and yet I'm on YorkieTalk...BAD!!), but I'm gonna give his vet a call here in a little while and see what she thinks. It's just so strange. He's on Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy food (same thing he's always had), and his treats are Canine Carry-Outs (again, same treats he always gets). I'm just so baffled because nothing in our routine has changed at all. |
quick treatment My yorkie when he was 8 and 9 months got into some wood and plastic pens and chewed them up. It upset his stomach.I didn't know what was going on till I caught him in the act. But anyway he had an upset stomach. I called my breeder and she reccomended a herb called acidophilus in a capsule. You place 3 cc of warm water and open the capsule and disolve with the 3cc of warm water then give in the 1 time a day. It promotes a healthy intestinal tract. It is basicly healthy bacteria. Well, everytime he has an upset stomach, I do that . I tried going to the vet. Their medicine didn't work , but that did. |
forgot to say I forgot you can get that at Walmart in the vitamen section. It is around $8.00. |
If it keep on trowing up for a few more days every night, I would take him to the vet... |
