vaccines I'm really concerned, I'm supposed to take Pebbles for her 8 weeks vaccines but someone just told me I should spread the vaccines because she is too small, her weight is 1lb 8oz and she could go into kidney failure. A friend of hers got her small puppy vaccinated and he went into kidney failure and now he is blind. What should I do? |
Yes, you do need to spread them out but kidney failure isn't a common occurrence after vaccines. Your pup doesn't need to get vaccinated for everything. It depends on your area. I would figure out which ones you want given before the appointment. Some are more risky than others like lepto. Somewhere between 8-10 weeks is an okay time to start them if your pup is healthy. I would wait as long as possible to give rabies and I wouldn't want to give more than DHPP at one time. |
We spread out Walker's shots too. The vet gave him 1 shot every 2 weeks. Rabies last. He didn't have any problem with them, but I would talk to the vet about it and work with them.:) |
I spread out Lola's also. The rabies definitely has to be by itself. I only vaccinated for what was necessary for my area. The core vaccines and nothing else. |
I followed this schedule wit my first and am doing the same with my second baby. Vaccination Schedule Recommendations For Dogs |
I do one at a time and ask for smaller doses. We had a really bad experience w/the Lepto shot. I would avoid that one. |
Yes do all shots separately unless it's not a live virus or else your baby's body wont be able to take it and would get very sick, no eat and have low blood sugar ... one thing leads to another. Also depending on where you live, you DONT need all the shots nor will you need to do them every year. I'm not a vet but have done a lot of research. I sugguest you try goggling this topic, youd find interesting articles on Wall Street Journals and such. |

Veterinarians make money off of vaccines. they start too young and give too many. Most of them are not even necessary in most areas. They cause problems with their immune systems creating allergies. Your vet will not tell you these things. |
