Pebbles is not getting better... any advice  Hi, my 8 weeks baby girl Pebbles, developed a cough right after we got her from the pet store. We took her to the vet last Saturday and gave her cough medicine and antibiotics but she doesn't seem to be improving.. any advice?? |
If she has kennel cough it can take a long time to get rid of it. Sometimes months |
Anti biotic is given as a preventative against pneumonia developing in dog's with kennel cough. It doesn't cure the illness. Kennel cough can take a long time to clear up. You can take her into a steamed filled bathroom or use a warm mist vaporizer with vick's in it. A teaspoon of honey will also sooth an irritated throat. |
Poor thing...I have seen my friend's Cocker Spaniel pup had kennel cough. It lasted for more than a month. It does take a long time to heal and you need to make sure it doesn't develop into pneumonia..usually vets prescribe antibiotics. Honey is a good idea with adult dogs but I have heard they should never be given to puppies. Check with your vet first on this because I never found out if its true or not. |
Pebbles Thank you so much.. hopefully she'll feel better soon otherwise I will take her to the vet... |
