Shaking Hello and hapy new year wonderful people of YT! I have a question, Bowie, who is 7 months old has this wierd habit of shaking, he does it when hes waiting fir us to give him his meals, when we are geting ready to leave without him, when we put his pj's on and when we are about to go out for a walk. I dont know what is making him do this. Anyone elses baby fo this? |
hmmmmmmm........Ella :aimeeyork does that too........I'm curious too! |
Is it shaking or is it wiggling? |
My Brandi does the same thing. She shakes while she is waiting for me to feed her. She just stands there while I am getting her food and starts shaking....more of a trembling. Sometimes I will stop what I am doing to make sure she is okay. It doesn't stop her from wolfing down her food. For something so small she sure can put it away. Funny all this time I thought she was just cold maybe its just a weird yorkie habit. After she eats, I wrap her up in her little blankie and she usually falls asleep in my lap. I keep her hoodie on in the house because her hair is still growing back. I also check her ears and her paw. She also shakes just before we go for our walks. As soon as she sees me getting her coat she starts shaking. She's okay when we get outside depending on how cold it is. But I am noticing that cold weather doesn't appear to bother her once we start walking. If it's too cold.....she aint going nowhere. I have to pick her sometimes to take her out. When this happens....she's goes out, does her thing and back in. |
What is his weight? My friends' yorkie does the same thing. The vet told her he was diabetic, very small yorkies do this, she has give him something sweet and the vet said to make sure he eats. This might be your problem or he may just be nervous. |
Well Doodlebug will do with too and I have looked it up and the conclusion that I have come to is that it has to do with the Maltese in their mix. Maltese and other small white dogs are prone to shaking when stressed or overly excited. I know this is when Doodlebug will shake and he's about the same age as Bowie. Now I will sit back............:2popkorn: |
Thank you everyone, so far amazing advice!!! Well bowie is about 4lbs, not smal for a 6month old, i wil definatly ask about the diabetes. And Cj, it sems more like a tremble/shake. Almost like hes too excited. |
Wow - I have never heard of this. Gez, I'm still learning. I'd really like to know what it is. I wonder if LadyMom or MyFairLacy would know. found this thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...g-panting.html |
Do you leave food out all the time or just feed certain times of the day? I leave dry food out all the time for mine to snack on when they feel the urge to eat. Never have had mine shake/tremble or anything. |

Shaking Ours does the same thing, I think it might be because she is cold...she lays on the arm of the couch and shakes a little bit on and off kinda thing...I bought her a little sweater and she doesn't do it as much....I'm glad she is ok with wearing it, because she is so damn picky lol...she hates bows and her hair in rubber bands (what a brat!) :littleang: |
